Hello 4th Ward Neighbor!

Tomorrow is election day. I hope you make a wise decision and vote for me. I am not running to “get a job.” I am running because we need strong, Conservative leadership that care about the people in Ward 4. This is about us versus the “establishment” that have brought neighborhoods down. It is about us working together to make what we want to see happen, happen. It’s really not about words but action. The realization is that we need new leadership for the 4th Ward, we need someone who wants to do the work and not sit behind a desk all day letting an “assistant” do all the work. It’s not about a “position” and it’s definitely not about “politics.” It is about the people and our livelihoods. It’s about safe spaces where we live and the security of our families and businesses. This is about the sanctity of life in the 4th Ward. I am at your service. I promise to do the work to make all of our lives better in the 4th Ward. I also promise to rid this area of the mismanagement of everyone’s vote!

WHY VOTE FOR ANGELA WILLIAMS TO REPRESENT THE 4TH WARD?

It is my responsibility and duty to seek political office to represent the neighbors and neighborhoods within the 4th Ward when people are being stepped on for political pawns. I am and always have been for the community, for people. We are not a number; we are human beings who need representation that will bring back personal prosperity in our lives and where we live. The current democratic elected officials promote and advocate for policies that are destroying our communities. They are not “people” focused. I am “people” focused. The fact that we don’t have enough police officers to meet the demands of our growing population is a complete failure. The fact that the current leadership supported a plan for a train to come through neighborhoods that will displace and leave people homeless is shameful. They don’t even care about the people who voted for them. I am running for Minneapolis 4th Ward City Council so that I can bring the revitalization of commerce and overall ward improvements of the livability of the citizens in all neighborhoods within the 4th Ward in Minneapolis.

WARD 4 DELIVERABLES:

Community Building: Create commissioners in each neighborhood in partnership with neighborhood associations with oversight on initiatives in connection with economic development and public safety in their neighborhoods. We can also build a neighborhood association coalition because we must build together in order to see the change.

Junior Achievement: Execute Neighborhood Internship Program with local high schools and local business owners to provide leadership and career development.

Emergency Preparedness Mitigation: Work directly with residents and businesses in the 4th Ward to become equipped for emergency management implementation in the case of a natural or emergency disaster.

Public Safety: Restructure the process by re-allocating funds back into the police department; create a partnership between public safety groups with accountability, the police and neighborhood associations.

Transportation Infrastructure (Re)Model: Residency representation on committees in the 4th Ward where large transportation is being planned that will affect 4th Ward residents.

Housing: Create a more effective policy that will bring protections to tenants and also will support tax cuts for property owners and work cooperatively with landlords to incentivize them for being over-taxed so they can reduce rent by 3% instead of raising rent 3%.

Education: Meet with local elementary and high school administrators to develop more intensive resources to increase student performance and request mandatory parental engagement education with a focus on truancy. See Junior Achievement platform.

Environmental: Address health and food disparities in the Ward and focus on current events of the environment like emergency preparedness now rather than later.

Mission and Planning Refinement: Neighborhood Partnership development which will create and sustain a community of vitality.

Stakeholder Development: Produce quarterly summits to report out to the Ward that will strengthen relationships and continue the dialogue with constituents to keep an earnest commitment with an awareness of community inclusion.
